    We work with the Labrador Winter Games and we have developed a Traditional Indigenous Games Booklet. In partnership with School Sport NL we are planning a professional development opportunity for teachers to learn how to teach and guide the values in the traditional games as well as the skill it takes to perform.     Individuals need to register, try out, and qualify. To participate you must be Indigenous and provide proof of ancestry. Please watch our Events Page or Contact Us to learn more.

Funding and Support

    While we don’t sponsor athletes, we can offer a travel subsidy. Funding is based on an individual basis. Please reach out to learn more, contact us.

  • Yes! We are funded by the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador through a bilateral agreement with the Federal Government.

    We also receive funding from the Sport for Social Development in Indigenous Communities-Stream 1, a federally funded initiative.

Coaching and Officiating

  • Our clinics are designed to train and certify coaches and officials in multiple sports:

    • Coaching Clinics: Learn effective coaching techniques, leadership skills, and strategies to guide athletes of all ages. Courses cover everything from basic training to advanced coaching methods.

    • Officiating Clinics: These sessions train individuals to become certified referees or officials, focusing on rules, ethics, and maintaining fair play.

  • It Depends

    It depends on the sport and the level you wish to achieve. In general, NCCP certification is required. This involves online courses, in-person courses, background checks, vulnerable sector checks, First Aid/CPR, Rule of 2, and others.
