Our Vision
Healthy, active, and confident Indigenous communities through self-determination of sport, recreation, and physical activity programs.
Our Mission
The Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Circle of Newfoundland and Labrador develops and promotes traditional and mainstream sport, recreation, and physical activity opportunities to the Indigenous communities and groups of Newfoundland and Labrador to enhance well-being and cultural identity.
What we do
Capacity and Leadership
We represent the diverse Indigenous peoples across Newfoundland and Labrador and we strive to support all communities. We offer volunteer opportunities, coaching development, recognition, and other activities that help create communities that are guided by self-determination.
Aboriginal Sport Development
We believe everyone is an athlete - our goal is to help find your passions and spark your enjoyment. We provide introductory training, coaching, and travel support for our communities. Through our sport programs we provide the opportunity to participate recreationally or competitively. If there is any sport you are interested in learning more about, please feel free to reach out!
Indigenous Community Support
Recreation is how we learn, play, and socialize. We believe that it is a foundational building block for creating mental and physical well-being. Our recreational activities focus on bringing people together. Serving our communities is our number 1 priority. Whether that be program specific or letters of support for funding opportunities to grant writing. We support traditional activities as well in learning more about the Indigenous people of NL.

Behind the Logo
Our logo is a representation of our indigenous communities coming together across the province through recreation and sport. This icon draws on multiple references such as an arrow, paddle, ball or a feather using the colors of the medicine wheel. The circle above grounds the idea of unity, wholeness, motion and balance.
